Māori Cultural Safety
The OCANZ accreditation standards include the requirement for programs of study to integrate cultural competence/safety as required learning outcomes. The Optometry Māori Health Curriculum Frameworks introduces education in Māori principles and core values with the goal of enhancing the cultural safety and responsiveness of optometry education in Aotearoa and Australia.
The Optometry Māori Curriculum Health Frameworks has been developed to support accessible and equitable eye health services through the development of a culturally safe and aware optometry workforce.
