30 Years of OCANZ
OCANZ proudly marks 30 years in 2026. Since our establishment in 1996, we have remained committed to strengthening accreditation, assessment, and professional standards in optometry across Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand. This milestone offers an opportunity to reflect on our history, acknowledge the many contributors who have shaped our work, and celebrate three decades of supporting excellence in eye care.

OCANZ 30 Year Celebration
OCANZ held it’s annual Members & Directors meeting at Marnong Estate. The day began with a Welcome to Country from Elder Jason Tweedy, providing a meaningful start to the meeting and an opportunity to reflect on the Country on which we were meeting.
Members, Directors, Committee and Taskforce Chairs, guests and staff came together to reflect on OCANZ’s history, hear what is happening across the profession, and discuss some of the opportunities and challenges ahead.
